S3 Wooden Blocks Game (Bong.Ka) for the Teaching and Learning of Prefixes

Permainan Bongkah Kayu (Bong.Ka) bagi Pengajaran dan Pembelajaran Awalan

SCHOOL / ORGANISATION
Yumin Primary School

SYNOPSIS

Play is an important part of the pupils’ mental and social development in Yumin Primary School. Board games in the classroom serve as a platform for pupils to think critically. It is also an effective way for teachers to employ cooperative learning.

Bong.Ka is an adaptation from the popular game, Jenga. Each block of wood is labelled with various letters. Pupils choose the appropriate wooden blocks to form a prefix to be added to a root word.

Indirectly, pupils are trained to think creatively. Through these games, positive values such as collaborating and overcoming challenges in teams are built. Overall, teachers and pupils have gained a holistic and meaningful experience through this strategy.

SINOPSIS
