Mdm Jumaini Ariff is a children’s book author and a prominent storyteller in the Singapore literary scene. She is well-known for her uniquely crafted persona “Nek Selampit” and has participated in numerous national campaigns and international storytelling performances.
In 2015, Mdm Jumaini founded Storyscribblers, a literary-based company which provides high quality, fun and engaging language programmes based on the books she authored. Always striving to inspire fellow pre-school educators, Mdm Jumaini conducts storytelling skills training workshops which are accredited by the Early Childhood Development Authority (ECDA) and supported by SkillsFuture Singapore. In 2017, Mdm Jumaini was appointed as a Malay Language Ambassador. She is currently working with various institutions to revive interest towards Malay amongst pre-school and primary school children.
